2009 Outlook: Over the Hill (decreased production)
For five years in a row Donald Driver has surpassed the 1,000 yard receiving plateau. However, the product out of Alcorn State is now 34 and one of these days his production has to start going down. There were signs of it last year when he caught 74 passes, his lowest total since 2003. There were signs in 2007 too when he only caught two touchdown passes, but he still managed to tally 1,012 yards and five trips to the end zone in 2008. Can he keep it up for another year? With younger players like Jordy Nelson and James Jones capable of playing a bigger role, it should be Driver who feels the results. He could still be a great second receiver on most fantasy teams, but do not be surprised if you do not get 1,000 yards out of him this year.
8/2 Update: Driver moved to a secondary receiver position when Greg Jennings became the team's top receiver and it will just be a matter of time before he is relegated further down the depth chart. With Nelson and a now healthy Jones available (not to mention some other capable receivers on the roster like Ruvell Martin, Brett Swain and Jamarko Simmons), Driver's productivity could start dropping right away.

Rotoworld.com - I guess he fell this late because he's old. Fair enough. I'll take him. |

TheHuddle.com - Driver still has something left in the tank... at least enough to be a quality fantasy WR3. |

KFFL.com - I like the consistency with Driver. He'll catch five or so passes a game, he should score five or six times and rack up 1,000-plus yards over the season. He's going to lose touches to some of the younger guys, and he has turned 34. I still feel we see another solid season from Driver. I'll take that with my No. 4 wideout. |

KFFL.com - I guess maybe he's washed up? For six straight years, 70-plus catches and 1,000-plus yards, occasional big games with that offense, I'll take it. |
