2009 Outlook: Stud (low risk)

How can anyone not call LT a stud? Even when injured, he posts better numbers than the average running back. The only danger to LT's fantasy value is Sproles. If Turner feels that LT needs to rest (which might be appropriate from time to time), Sproles will carry the load and no doubt be productive. LT was good for over 1,100 yards and a combined 12 touch downs last season. His receiving TDs suffered, but he is still highly effective in any scenario. Look for LT to return determined this campaign and ready to lead his team with Rivers into the playoffs strong.

2009 Mock Draft Results

Month Position Franchise/Comments
May 1.04 KFFL.com - LT is virtually a lock for double-digit touchdowns and 50 receptions. I expect a bounce-back season from him in '09, but his injury concerns gave me pause.
June 1.08 FantasyFootballTrader.com - LaDainian wanted me to pass along that THIS was the best talent available.
July 1.10 KFFL.com - LT in 2008: 1,536 total yards, 52 receptions and 12 total touchdowns. With any other running back, that would be a strong season - because of LT's perception, it's a poor season. Sure, it was a down year, but he was also battling a toe injury for the first half of the season. I think Darren Sproles role in the offense won't be that big, and that LT plays 2009 with a huge chip on his shoulder. I'm happy he fell to me.
Aug. 1.02 KFFL.com - I didn't always fall in line in kindergarten, either. LT may be on the decline and isn't the same player if he's banged up, but his foremost goal is to prove he's great. He's healthy and on a mission, and Norv knows what makes this offense go.
