WR Santana Moss, WAS
<< Back to Profiles List
Don't call it a comeback, but Santana Moss turned in his best year since 2005, hauling in 79 receptions for 1,044 yards and six scores while playing in all 16 games. Of course, history suggests he will not produce comparable numbers in back-to-back seasons. Like the entire Redskins offense, his numbers dipped after a strong first half -- three games with at least 140 receiving yards and five touchdowns -- but in his case chalk it up to a leaky offensive line giving Moss little time to beat defenders down the field. He caught at least four passes in 13 games, but also matched his career-low of 13.2 yards per catch. Despite his listed size of 5'10 (cough, cough), Moss plays bigger than one would assume, but he would benefit highly if one of the Redskins' young 6'2 targets would emerge on the other side. Still, his career has been marked by long stretches of erratic play and there is little reason to believe that the Redskins have solved their other deficiencies sufficiently enough to help Moss. He likely goes a little earlier than he should in fantasy drafts following his solid season, but savvy owners should consider him no more than a WR3/matchup play in standard size leagues.

KFFL.com - I saw a lot of Moss' 2005 incarnation in his performance last season. With Jason Campbell finally getting a second year in an offensive system - Jim Zorn's aerial show, nonetheless - I can't see how it would hurt Moss' output. His propensity for being banged up doesn't hurt much since he (hopefully) won't be my starter. |

FansFantasyFootball.com - OK first I hate making this pick. I think S. Moss is one of the most over-rated Fantasy players ever...that being said in a ppr league with 80 catch potential he is a solid WR 3. |

KFFL.com - Best-ball format works for a player like Moss, too. Washington should slowly reap benefits of second straight year with same offense. |
