WR Reggie Wayne, IND
<< Back to Profiles List
Reggie Wayne enters the 2009 season as one of the top five fantasy wide receivers. Wayne saw a drop off in his numbers in 2008, catching 82 passes for 1145 yards and six touchdowns -- down from his tremendous 2007 season in which he caught 104 passes for 1510 yards and ten touchdowns. Wayne should improve on last year's numbers and regain his status as one of the most productive receivers in the NFL and in fantasy football. Wayne had another added bonus of having Peyton Manning as his quarterback. Fantasy owners do not have to worry about ineffectiveness or erratic play from Manning, giving Wayne an excellent chance of being productive each and every week of the season. There is very little risk in drafting Reggie Wayne as your WR 1 this season.

ThunderingBlurb.com - Almost went with a second RB here as the WR run left some great #2s on the board. But a top WR in this format is a need IMO, and Wayne's 2009 should be much better than his 2008. Questions I have include what will happen with Manning and the sudden new staff changes and can Gonzalez draw coverage off Wayne. BUT I expect him to bounce back and be a fine 1 WR and will end up somewhere in the top ranks for FWRs. |

FantasyFootballTrader.com - You can count on one hand the WR's more consistent than Waye since he transistioned to Peyton's #1 target. |
