2013 Outlook: Stud (low risk)

Last updated on Jul-01-2013 by Vin Sadicario

Drew Brees enters the 2013 season as one of the top quarterbacks in fantasy football. Brees is coming off a season in which he threw for 5177 yards, 43 touchdowns, and 19 interceptions. Brees led the league in both passing yards and touchdowns, but his numbers were down from an even more spectacular 2011 season. Brees should have no problem keeping his fantasy dominance going this season; and right now, I would draft him as the number one fantasy quarterback.

4.10 Gridiron Experts - Drew Brees is out #1 quarterback, and for good reason. Nothing wrong with Rodgers, of course, but his number could drop off just a tad because of the Packers finally investing into their lagging backfield. Meanwhile, Brees comes off back to back 5000+ yards, 40+ passing touchdown seasons. With Sean Payton back in the fold, there's no reason to thing that the Saints offense won't continue to put up fantastic numbers... (insert John Lovett voice) "And I'm reaping all the benefits..."

5.12 KFFL - Tim - QBs fell in this format because of the expanded Flex format, and I'm not one usually to jump on the position this early. But this is where I typically start looking, and you can't get much better value than Brees here. I decided to start a run and have a consistent week-to-week stud. Even if they run more, I'm not concerned.
