2011 Outlook: Bye Week Fill-in

I have to admit I'm not a big Chris Chambers fan. Each year when draft time comes Chambers is one of those players I agonize over. I feel like he should put up good numbers and be a valuable fantasy players for my team, then I look back at all the hype Chambers has had over the years and the lack of production and I wind up leaving Chris on the board for other owners. Thus far this has not come back to haunt me and this season I don't think it will either. Chris had just 9 receptions for 122 yards and a touchdown in 7 games with San Diego last season. When he came to Kansas City his numbers improved but I have to wonder how much of that was because Bowe was not in the lineup. Year in and year out I watch Chambers wondering if I made a mistake on draft day. Then I look at his numbers at the end of the season and see a player who falls in the middle of the pack. So unless you have a better gut feeling than I do it may be a good idea to pass Chambers over. However, if you're looking for a late round bye week filler then Chris could be a good choice. He did have 730 yards and 5 touchdowns in 16 games last year.
