2012 Outlook: Solid/Safe Pick
Last updated on Aug-20-2012 by George BissellSteve Smith experienced a renaissance year with rookie Cam Newton under center last season. Smith eclipsed 1,000 yards receiving for the first time since 2008, finishing the season with 79 receptions for 1,394 yards and seven touchdowns. As a result of his resurgence, Smith was rewarded by Carolina with a three-year contract extension in the offseason. At age 33, Smith still has explosive speed that makes him a vertical weapon in the passing game, and he remains a solid fantasy wide receiver.

2012 Experts Mock Draft (June) June 6, 2012 - June 25, 2012 |
4.06 | FFToolbox.com (Ben) - Prefer Smith in non-PPR formats, but his explosive production some weeks will be stellar in this best-ball format. And yes, I'm aware it's four rounds in and I have not drafted a RB. Just not in love with anyone here. Kind of curious myself how this will turn out... |

2012 Experts Mock Draft (August) Aug 14 - 24 |
4.11 | FFToolbox.com (Ben) - No tougher player in the league. You don't get points for that, but Smith will fight for every ball thrown his way. That plus his speed and being Cam Newton's main target will lead to plenty of scoring. |
