2009 Outlook: Sleeper (undervalued)

Correll Buckhalter has been second string his entire career. When your starting running back is Brian Westbrook, I guess you sit back, observe, learn as much as you can and then apply it when provided the opportunity. At least this is the perspective that I would have hoped Buckhalter employed the last several seasons. Buckhalter has never surpassed 600 yards rushing, but has the skills and also the hands to receive passes. Buckhalter is listed as the starter, but the rookie Moreno looks good and could impede Buckhalter's opportunities. I like both backs, however they are both unproven and sleepers in my book.

June 15.03 FantasySharks.com - Just rounding the roster out. Taking a flyer on a Denver runner was always the thing to do but sans Shanahan, things will likely be different. Still, Buckhalter has been extremely solid when active and it's possible that he could excel for the Broncos if given a chance. He smells to me like a waiver wire darling so I'll spin the wheel and try to land him before his situation warrants it.
July 16.08 ThunderingBlurb.com - It's a crowded backfield and could be SHOCKER another year of RBBC - I like Hillis quite a bit and while Moreno was out he got some love but the only person whose role I am sure of - aside from Moreno's - is CBuck. Bukhalter looks like New England West's Kevin Faulk - a guy who they will use in the some receiving sets who could compile some decent points in a pinch. Other late round RBs I am looking at aside from CBuck and Hillis - Goodson (CAR - got lots of work with Williams and Stewart hurt or held out of practice), Rashad Jennings (someone has to spell MJD and I get the sense it ain't Chauncey Washington) and Shonn Greene (not as sold on him but heavy run game in NY warrants a look).
Aug. 12.02 eCouchCoach.com - May get some of the action until Moreno comes back from his injury.
