2009 Outlook: Quality Backup
Laveranues Coles was released from the New York Jets following the 2008 season and joined the Cincinnati Bengals shortly thereafter. Coles will take over the number two wide receiver spot in Cincinnati that was vacated by T.J. Houshmandzadeh this off-season. The Bengals' passing game was down in 2008, but should bounce back in a big way with a healthy Carson Palmer this season. Coles caught 70 passes for 850 yards and seven touchdowns with the Jets last season and should be able to put up similar numbers in the Bengals' high powered passing offense this season. The Bengals will need to throw the ball a lot this season and Coles should help take some pressure of Carson Palmer and Chad "Ocho Cinco". Coles will be a good WR 3 for most fantasy teams.

FFToolbox.com - Coles becomes the move-the-chains option for the Bengals, so his PPR upside offsets any chronological downside. |

TheHuddle.com - Carson Palmer is healthy, and Ced Benson is their running back; sounds like plenty of passing to me, with Coles filling the role vacated by Houshmandzadeh: WR1a |
