QB Tom Brady, NE<< Back to Profiles List
2009 Outlook: Solid/Safe PickAfter a record breaking 2007 season, everyone was curious to see what Tom Brady would do for an encore in 2008. Too bad that was never to be. All early reports say that Brady is progressing very well and he will be ready for the season. Before his injury last year Brady hadn't missed a game since 2001, so there is definitely reason to be optimistic when it comes to his health; as long as he can stay healthy all season, he is definitely worthy of a being a top 10 QB. Even before his wild 2007 season, Brady was a very consistent QB, averaging 3,743 yards passing and 25.8 touchdowns over his 5 seasons before 2007. If he comes back and is able to match those averages he will be a top 5 fantasy QB; with the likes of Moss and Welker, there is no reason to think that won't happen. Follow his rehabilitation progress and as long as things are going well, don't be afraid to draft him.
August 15, 2009
So far, so good. Brady has done everything that has been asked of him in an attempt to come back; so far there have been no setbacks. He has looked good in all off season work outs and in the Patriots' first pre-season game, where he completed 10 out of 15 passes for 100 yards (to go along with 2 touchdowns and 1 interception). There is no reason to believe that when the season gets under way Brady won't be ready to put up the same numbers that made him one of the top fantasy QBs.
