TE Jeremy Shockey, NO
<< Back to Profiles List
Jeremy Shockey enters his second season with the New Orleans Saints in a better position to succeed. Shockey will have an entire off-season to work with Drew Brees and the Saints offense, and this should lead to him having a bigger role in their offense this season. Shockey had a disappointing first season in New Orleans, catching 50 passes for 483 yards and zero touchdowns in only 12 games. Shockey has always had to deal with injury issues, and will need to stay healthy if he hopes to put up a pro bowl caliber season. If Shockey is able to make it through an entire season healthy, he should be able to significantly improve on his 2008 season and could be a top 5-10 tight end in fantasy leagues. Shockey is a good tight end to target once the top flight tight ends have gone off the board in fantasy drafts.

TheHuddle.com - Shockey isn't the kind of guy you can rely on; see his recent Vegas escapades for proof. But in that offense, if someone finds a way to light a fire under him, he's a top-five TE. Since I already have Keller I don't NEED Shockey to be greatï¾—but it's at least worth throwing a late R12 pick at him just in case it does happen. |

FFToolbox.com - Shockey gives me another TE option to plug in the weeks I fear JaMarcus Russell will have a hard time getting my current starter, Zach Miller, the ball. |

KFFL.com - He's healthy and much more comfortable with the offense (which, if you haven't heard, is pretty good) now that he hasn't joined it in a whirlwind of offseason drama. More explosiveness than any tight end remaining and many of those already drafted. |
