2009 Outlook: Bye Week Fill-in
Donald Lee did not live up to his great 2007 campaign in 2008, but he was not too bad either. He caught 39 passes for 303 yards and five touchdowns. His 6-4, 248 pound frame made him a favorite target for quarterback Aaron Rodgers in the red zone and that alone makes him a decent fantasy tight end. However, it is very possible that Lee could get fewer catches this year as the Packers and Rodgers open up their offense a little more. When Rodgers was scrambling for his life and trying to deal with his new job as a starting quarterback, it was nice to dump the ball off to Lee every once in a while. Now that Rodgers is more comfortable in the system, he will be looking down field more often.
8/2 Update: Now it is even possible that Lee could lose his starting job. Jermichael Finley ended the 2008 campaign very strong and has kept getting better and impressing the Packers' staff. Even if Finley does not earn the starting gig, he will cut into Lee's playing time.
