TE Antonio Gates, SD

Gates is another one of the studs that surrounds Rivers. I have been perplexed for years now as to why San Diego has not won a championship, or for that matter a few. Look at all of the talent and weigh your options for fantasy players. These guys are good and put up the numbers. Their luck is just not always there. Gates had 60 receptions for nearly 750 yards and 8 scores last season, with injury. Look for Gates to be healthy this year and be a stud tight end as always.

FFToday.com - This is a little earlier than I would like to take Gates, but Iﾒm not enamored with the available WR at this spot either since T.J. Houshmandzadeh just left the building. In terms of picking Gates over Tony Gonzalez, I prefer Gates based on youth and having a better QB. Even though Gonzo was a better option last year with marginal QBs, I believe Gatesﾒ off year was mostly due to recovering from that toe injury that I would hope is now behind him. |
