QB Philip Rivers, SD

Rivers has proven that he can be an NFL fantasy stud with over 4,000 yards, 34 touchdowns and just just 11 interceptions in 2008. Why can this team not win a championship? Rivers has solid receivers and a huge ground attack with LT and Sproles, but for some reason San Diego cannot break the habit of exiting the playoffs early. Rivers will be a stud again this season with numbers similar to last year, but hopefully the team's luck turns up and everything comes together. I have projected an 11-5 season, which will require the receiving core to produce, the running game to explode and open passing lanes and the defense to stand up. Only time will tell, but I figure Rivers is good for another 4,000 yards and 30 plus touchdowns.

TheHuddle.com - WRs and QBs will be gutted by the time the draft makes it back to me again; at WR there are options later that I like, but even if only half the teams that still need QBs take one the talent pool will be thinned considerably. I'd prefer to wait on QB, but Rivers and what I get later puts more points on the field than a TE or backup RB/WR now and a QB after the cream has been skimmed off. |
