2012 Outlook: Solid/Safe Pick
Last updated on Aug-04-2012 by Jeb GorhamRivers has A-game potential, but there were plenty of B and C level performances during last season's turnover-heavy campaign. As both the quarterback and veteran Chargers look to rebound, look for Rivers to throw early and often. His major objectives will be to move the ball quickly and accurately. Accuracy has been an issue and Rivers and his team have been working on eliminating turnovers. Rivers has a solid running game behind him and he should have every opportunity to make it a great season.

7.03 | CBSSports.com - Waiting on a QB pays off as Rivers should bounce back from a down year with his high interception rate. The addition of Meachem is solid, and hopefully Gates stays healthy. |

2012 Experts Mock Draft (August) Aug 14 - 24 |
8.03 | KFFL.com - Ordinarily, I wouldn't seek QB security this early, especially because I have one of the top five options at the position already. Cam Newton, you might say, is in harm's way a bit more often than other top fantasy passers. Plus, I can't ignore the value of a Rivers when I'd be considering a backup QB in a round or two anyway. His numbers in his final nine games (2,540 passing yards, 20 TD passes, 9 INTs) suggested that he'd about turned it around. There are plenty of WRs and TEs left, and many are similar, at this point. |
