2013 Outlook: Quality Backup

Even before an ankle injury cut his season short, Lee Evans was having one of the worst years of his career in 2010. Outside of his six catch, three touchdown effort against Baltimore in week seven, Evans was pretty much an average, and terribly inconsistent, fantasy receiver. Steve Johnson took over a bigger role and emerged as quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick's favorite target. Now 30 years old, Evans is at a crossroads in his career. After catching just 37 passes for 578 yards and four touchdowns last year, Evans could go either way. If Johnson is once again a touchdown machine, Evans may be relegated to second fiddle and while Buffalo will throw quite a bit, there is not room for two top receivers on this team. Evans' ankle is not an issue anymore and it is hard to believe that he will not be more productive than he was last season. He has the talent to do so and it still remains unclear whether or not Johnson will continue his surprising success.
