2009 Outlook: Deep-league Only

McCown has failed to out-play Byron Leftwich so far in the pre-season, but he still has the opportunity to win the starting job. Head Coach Raheem Morris won't name a started until after the Buccaneers second pre-season game this Saturday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. If McCown manages to win the starting job then he is worthy of a bench spot. McCown completed only 4 of 8 passes for 19 yards in the Buccaneers first pre-season game versus the Tennessee Titans. Even if McCown wins the starting job he shouldn't be drafted in fantasy leagues. If McCown starts the season on a roll, then he is worth a pickup.
