RB Ronnie Brown, MIA
<< Back to Profiles List
Heading into last season there were questions surrounding Brown and his ability to run the ball after only 10 months of rehabbing his surgically repaired right knee. I for one thought Brown would be a mediocre player for the first half of the season until his knee was fully healed and then his stock would rise. Much to my surprise, Brown busted out week 3 carrying the ball 17 times for 113 yards and 4 touchdowns against a vaunted Patriots defense. From week one Brown looked like his old self again and there was little question his knee was ready to run. This year I'd expect much of the same from Ronnie. When given the ball he'll produce and by year's end he should be close 1,000 yards again. I wouldn't select Ronnie as my number one back, but I'd definitely take him as my second starter.

FFToday.com - I was debating Reggie Bush vs. Ronnie Brown for this pick before ThunderingBlurb snatched up Bush, making my decision for me. This is Brown's second year back from a knee injury that cut short a phenomenal first half of the 2007 season. With Ricky now 32, Brown should see more workload shifted his way. Brown is no slouch catching the ball either, recording over 30 in each of his 4 seasons. |

FFToday.com - Ronnie Brown is certainly getting more love since we kicked off the start of fantasy football season in early June. That gets me worried when the value is lost on a player because everyone is hyping him up as a value play. But as an early 3rd round pick, and RB2, I'm still buying. Things are aligning nicely for Brown - youth/experience, length of time since injury, increased opportunity, system - and the talent is certainly there for a player who had nearly 1,000 combined yards through his first 7 games of 2007 prior to the ACL injury. |

FantasyFootballTrader.com - Jeff just grabbed the last WR in my 2nd tier bucket so I'm going with Brown, who's been a very quality FP/game RB throughout his career. If healthy, there won't be a single #2 fantasy back among my opponents that I'm envious of. |

FFToday.com - So I would have been looking at DeAngelo + Bowe/Housh perhaps vs. Jennings + Ronnie Brown going the WR-WR route to start the draft. At the 8th/9th/10th pick it appears not a bad idea to go WR-WR. I think we're close to dropping a tier down at each position though, so it could backfire if the picks don't fall as expected. |
