It was only in 2007 when Derek Anderson threw for 3,787 yards and 29 touchdowns. Last year Anderson, like the rest of the Browns offense, was disappointing. And now Anderson finds himself in a battle with Brady Quinn for the starting job. If the Browns first preseason game was any indication, Anderson's downward spiral from his 2007 high is going to continue. While Quinn looked very impressive against the Packers, Anderson was anything but. He only threw two passes and one of them was intercepted. Coach Eric Mangini is nowhere near ready to give the job to Quinn, but Anderson better start looking like the 2007 Anderson and not the 2008 Anderson pretty soon or he will rarely see the field in 2009.
