RB Laurence Maroney, NE

2009 Outlook: Bye Week Fill-in
Maroney has tons of talent but he has had trouble staying healthy and with a log jam of running backs in New England, it will be hard for him to get back to the top spot on the depth chart. He is still very young and is the most talented of all the backs, so watch how he does in training camp because he could be worth a late round pick and end up surprising some people.
August 15, 2009
Maroney started and had the Pats' first 6 carries (for only 14 yards) in their pre-season game. Maroney missed most of last season (13 games) due to a broken bone in his shoulder. He is healthy now but will go into the season sharing the ball with a whole cast of other running backs, putting his draft stock in question. Maroney will have to do a lot to prove he deserves to be New England's work horse.

FFToolbox.com - I just can't stay away. There are safer choices on the board, but the Pats will score a ton and Maroney has a chance to be the main point producer out of the RBBC. At least if he fails this time, I won't be heartbroken taking him this late in the draft. |

KFFL.com - Came down to RB at this pick; I went with the upside. Chester Taylor would have looked nice, especially in a PPR league, but I think the potential with Maroney is too much to pass up. He appears to be completely healthy and won't have all the expectations of previous seasons. Fred Taylor is teaching him how to play football, and with the weapons around them, I think Maroney will be dangerous. |

TheHuddle.com - It's virtually impossible to bank on a Patriots RB in a H2H leagueï¾—but in this format I don't have to sweat out the five-carry outings, yet I still get the benefit if LoMo finally lives up to his potential. |
