The Panthers' backfield situation is a mess. There are just too many mouths to feed between DeAngelo Williams, Jonathan Stewart and Mike Tolbert. That list doesn't even include quarterback Cam Newton, who is a factor in the run game. Williams was productive last season (rushing for 836 yards and seven touchdowns), but his upside is limited due to questions about his workload. Fantasy owners should consider Williams a solid number three running back this season.

The best ball format makes his inconsistent contributions easier to handle; this group's widely disparate opinions on wide receivers make it likely I can still find guys I like in the next few rounds.
2012 Experts Mock Draft (July) July 16 - 27	8.12	KFFL.com - Grabbing a piece of this elite running game makes for decent RB depth. DAW will have plenty of flex-worthy weeks despite Cam Newton's TD vulturing.
2012 Experts Mock Draft (August) Aug 14 - 24	7.10	KFFL.com - If I had to set a lineup every week, no way I'd take him here because, obviously, he's part of a crowded backfield and it's very difficult to predict which weeks to play him. The Panthers still love his homer-hitting ability, and he'll get the rock enough to stick in my corner-infield spot in several weeks. If someone in Carolina's backfield gets hurt (hopefully not Cam, and besides Mike Tolbert), DAW's value skyrockets.
