RB LenDale White, TEN
<< Back to Profiles List
The thunder in this backfield is saying all the right things and even doing the right things for once. After reporting for an OTA at a downright svelte 238, White admitted to weighing over 260 lbs last year when he rumbled 80 yards. Maybe seeing Chris Johnson surpass him on the depth chart last year motivated him. Maybe it was the drafting of Javon Ringer or the fact that it is a contract year, who knows, but he is talking a good game. White did finish 19th in fantasy points in 2008, but that is likely his ceiling. If you draft Chris Johnson, White is worth the handcuff pick (he has an ADP between the late 5th and early 7th round), but don't expect much more. If Johnson were to go down, Ringer seems like he may be inserted as "lightening". Lendale will split carries at best and is a borderline starter/Bye week fill in for most 12 team leagues.

TheHuddle.com - At minimum I get a plug in for my WK6 bye issues; at best I get an RB5 who won't help much with the PPR portion of the program but who tied for third in the NFL in TDs last year. |

FFToday.com - You're right, he catches hardly any passes, but coming off a 15 TD season, now reportedly more fit and with an improved attitude towards his work, we're looking at some good value here in the late 8th round. I like Chris Johnson well enough, but do I really see him taking on a lot more workload than he got last year? Not really, or he'll be bowing out of more games like the Divisional Playoff game against the Ravens. White is still integral to the Titans success. |

FFToday.com - While there are a couple RB starters still on the board, I'm not crazy about those options and instead turn to not much of a pass receiver but the underrated, underappreciated (in fantasy circles) LenDale White. Yes, yes, Chris Johnson is the next best thing to sliced bread, but as we know, a primary RB logging 75% or more of the carries is not the way most teams are running these days, especially teams who put so much focus on their running game. The Titans were the epitomy of this in 2008 as White registered 15 TD. White is slimmer this training camp, but I'd rather a slimmer more focussed RB than a larger questionable work ethic RB, wouldn't you? White continues to offer good draft value. |

TheHuddle.com - LenDale's off the sauce and in a contract year. Plus, he scored 15 times last season and plays for a team that wants to run the ball 40 times a game. Feels like he's been undervalued in most of the drafts I've seen. |
