TE Tony Scheffler, DEN
<< Back to Profiles List
Tony Scheffler was one of Cutler's favorite targets. A big, fast and physical tight end can make a huge difference in the NFL as we have seen in past seasons with Antonio Gates and others. Scheffler fits into this mix and can be a great option for Orton under pressure or in mismatched coverage. Look for opponent defenses to watch Scheffler and try to avoid the short pass and long run scenario that he has potential to capitalize upon. From a TE perspective, Scheffler is a safe pick. Sure there are better tight ends out there, but if he gets another 50 or so receptions with over 500 yards and more than five TDs, he might be just the guy you can pick-up in later rounds.

FantasySharks.com - And for Mr. Irrelevant.. Scheffler will make a nice security blanket for Kyle Orton and is in line for potentially a big year with the new offensive scheme they're plugging into Denver. |

KFFL.com - Some other intriguing TEs had the same bye as Dustin Keller, so I went with a sub for that week who has also shown the ability to give dominant PPR performances. Sure, Scheffler's week-to-week play has been spotty, but I expect Kyle Orton will look to Scheff more frequently than Jay Cutler did. |
