2009 Outlook: Bye Week Fill-in
In light of the Brett Favre signing, T-jax has demanded a trade and the Vikings figure to move him for a draft pick in before the regular season begins (although his value couldn't be any lower now that he has a sprained knee).
Tarvaris Jackson has accuracy issues, poor mechanics and a weak grasp of reading defenses. Other than that he's a very competent NFL quarterback. Jackson finished the 2008 season (6 games) with 1,056 passing yards and a 9-to-2 TD/INT ratio. The 2006 second round pick out of Alabama State has not progressed as much as head Coach Brad Childress would have liked, which led the Vikings to trade a 4th round pick to the Texans for 30 year old Sage Rosenfels. T-Jax has a 10-14 career record as a starter and has been injury prone during his first three seasons, all of which figure to make him backup in the NFL for the forseeable future.
