TE Leonard Pope, KC<< Back to Profiles List
2009 Outlook: Deep-league OnlyIf Leonard Pope could stay healthy, then he would have an impact in the red-zone with his tremendous size. Despite his massive frame, the fact that Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin are two of the best jump ball receivers in the game take away any value Pope would have in the red-zone for Arizona.
Pope is a non-factor in fantasy football, who only caught 9 passes for 77 yards in 2008. Despite Arizona having one of the league's premier passing games, the tight end doesn't get involved too often. Fantasy owners should look elsewhere on the wavier wire for better option in 2009.
Update 8/21
Pope has struggled with drops this pre-season, and no tight end on the roster has done anything to distinguish themselves from the rest of the bunch. Pope already struggled on blocking despite his enormous size, and his problems catching the football could lead to him being cut. Last updated on Aug-21-2009 by George Bissell |
