WR Brandon Marshall, DEN
<< Back to Profiles List
In just about everyone's book, Marshall is a stud. However, under a new system and quarterback who really needs to prove himself, Marshall may not see the big numbers he was used to under the Shanahan-Cutler era. Orton will likely look to all of his receiving options to make himself shine. Marshall must break-out and prove he is the best option or he will lose targets to Royal, Stokley and Scheffler. Orton does not have the big arm Cutler did, so the deep passing game might be sacrificed for more quick pass and run scenarios. This scheme favors Stokley in the slot, Buckhalter in play-action passing and Scheffler on mismatches. I consider Marshall a safe/solid pick and a guy who can be counted on for targets, especially in the red zone with his size. Marshall's numbers might not be as great as the last two seasons where he had consistent 1,300 yards, over 100 receptions and about 6 TDs, but he will produce.

FansFantasyFootball.com - Thought about Mr. Manning here as 3rd round is nice value, but it would go against everything I believe in to take a QB this high...so I will pair up AJ with Brandon Marshall...say a prayer he does not get suspended this year and take his 100 catch average along for the ride... |
