RB Chris Johnson, TEN
<< Back to Profiles List
Fast, strong, and talented. CJ is a stud and his 2008 totals -- 1200 yards (4.9 yd avg.), 10 TDs, and 43 receptions (260 yards) -- are all likely to be eclipsed in 2009. Jeff Fished himself told us as much when he spoke about how Johnson was under used last year and how his role will be expanded in 2009. The sky is the limit for the second year back out of East Carolina. His value is limited by goal line vulture Lendale White, but his explosiveness still makes him a top 10 pick.

ThunderingBlurb.com - There are several backs still on the board who would be nice here but several have shakier offensive outlook. I like what I hear out of SF regarding Gore and I have hope that Steve Jackson will rebound as will the Rams offense. But neither is a sure thing. Chris Johnson has the skills to be an every down back and while LenDale May vulture some TDs, and Javon Ringer might spell him a bit, Johnson will continue to be an integral part of the Titans offense which they will look to often. |

FFToolbox.com - This was really a 50-50 call with Steven Jackson and even though the runninメ Ram - if healthy - has nearly all the backfield touches to himself, I went the uber-shifty Johnson. No doubt, LenDale White eating up goal line carries hurts, but he still scored what felt like a rather casual 10 touchdowns his rookie year. No sophomore slump here; barring major issues at QB, look for Johnson to improve upon his 43 receptions and 1,488 yards from scrimmage. |
