2011 Outlook: Bye Week Fill-in
Other than rookie left tackle Trent Williams, there is arguably no player more important to the fantasy value of Donovan McNabb than the talented but erratic Thomas. The Redskins' top pick in 2008, Thomas was largely irrelevant for his first year and a half despite possessing the size (6-2) and deep speed needed to succeed. Questions about desire and work ethic began to crop up and in some way still remain, though he started to show signs of life -- specifically with his 7-100-2 performance in a near upset over the Saints. Now that Antwaan Randle El was sent packing, the number two WR job is most definitely there for Thomas to lock up. Now that McNabb is his QB, there is definitely a chance that Thomas becomes his big play target. After all, McNabb has done more with less (I'm looking at you James Thrash). The range on Thomas is anywhere from Redskins top fantasy receiver and platoon/bye week option or painful reminder of wasted talent. Monitor the reports in training camp and if positive, Thomas is a sneaky WR4 pick with potential for much more; this is certainly a buyer beware type player.
