RB Matt Forte, CHI
<< Back to Profiles List
Matt Forte proved he was a workhorse and a stud last season. His ability to carve up defensive lines and the secondary when he broke free was impressive. Rushing for over 1,200 yards with 63 receptions is not your average running back. The only piece Forte was missing was the high number of touchdowns, he only rushed for eight and caught another four. I would optimistically expect this to change with Cutler at the helm. Forte will be utilized as always in the powerful Chicago ground attack, but he might be a bigger surprise at receiver this season with more touchdowns through the air. Forte will be a top five pick in most drafts and maybe even drafted higher above the likes of Jones-Drew and Steven Jackson (if you like running backs who have good hands and have a solid QB).

FantasySharks.com - In a PPR league I look for RB's that catch the ball as their value goes way up. Forte is one of those guys that can do it all and with defenses having to respect Cutler, things will open up even more for Forte. |

RapidDraft.com - I don't think there's a safer PPR pick than Forte this year. Sure, he won't catch 63 passes again in his second season. A stronger offense and probably better line should give him more shots at the end zone and a better per-carry average. Of course, his 12 total touchdowns as a rookie weren't too bad anyway. |

FFToolbox.com - Getting Forte at number four in a PPR league is music to my ears. In this format, I think he is the safest play on the entire board. |
