2014 Outlook:

Last updated on Jul-02-2014 by Rob Warner

Forsett is running ahead of rookie Lorenzo Taliaferro at OTAs and could serve as Pierce's primary backup for the first month of the season (which coincides with the expected duration of Rice's suspension). The Cal alum has failed to crack 65 carries in a season since 2010. Between 2009 and 2010, he averaged 116 carries and an impressive 4.9 YPC. The past three seasons, Forsett has been a fantasy non-factor with Seattle (2011), Houston (2012) and Jacksonville (2013). He could very well serve a pass-catching, third-down back for as long as Rice is in street clothes. Those in deeper PPR leagues should consider watching him if he gets some early playing time.

18.12 FantasyTaz - Forsett has always looked decent with limited chances, but right now I have him as the main backup to Maurice Jones-Drew. Jones-Drew is of course coming off a big injury and if he misses any time then Forsett will be next in line. Does that mean I expect him to replicate the numbers that MJD is capable of? Heck no, but at this point it is all about the possible chance of playing time at RB and he was the last RB 2 (on his own team) off the board.

17.08 DraftSharks - I totally (and mistakenly) bought into Forsett as the Seattle starter in 2010 after a terrific finish to 2009. But he performed well behind Houston's zone blocking last year and will find a similar scheme under the new Jacksonville coaches. Opportunities should arise playing behind the deteriorating MJD, and I don't believe in Denard Robinson debuting as a #2 RB in the NFL. I think he'll need more time to transition.
