DE Jason Babin inks five-year deal to return to Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to terms with defensive end Jason Babin @JasonBabin93 who formally played with the team in 2009. The five-year, $28 million contract includes roughly $5-6 million in guarantees. Babin enjoyed a breakout year in 2010 with the Tennessee Titans. He collected 58 combined tackles, 12.5 sacks and two forced fumbles. Babin is now 31 years old and only had 17.5 sacks in his first seven years in the league.

Fantasy Analysis:

Last season may have been a fluke. Babin came out of nowhere to become a fantasy gem IDP. But this is the market for elite pass rushers in the NFL today. Defenses that can't get after the quarterback put themselves at an extreme disadvantage. But what might make this work out regardless is that Babin will be paired with defensive end Trent Cole @Pro_Hunt58. Cole is one of the more consistently successful defensive linemen in the NFL. In six seasons, he has 57.0 career sacks. This duo should enjoy success in Philly's aggressive, blitzing-oriented defense.
