Dolphins agree to terms with rookie RB Daniel Thomas

Miami Dolphins running back Daniel Thomas has agreed to terms on his rookie contract. According to Jeff Darlington of the Miami Herald, the exact terms of the deal are unknown right now, but he says it will be signed during Friday's first practice. Thomas is expected to practice Saturday. Miami traded a third-, fifth- and a seventh-round pick to the Washington Redskins in exchange for the 62nd overall pick in this year's draft so that they could select Thomas.

Fantasy Analysis:

You've probably read a lot of stuff from Reggie Bush @ReggieBush in the past 24 hours about how he feels like he has never had a chance to be a feature running back and how he has something to prove, etc. That's all well and good, but please don't forget this fact: Reggie Bush will not lead the Dolphins in carries this season. That will be Thomas. He's the lead back. Sure, Bush will get his 10-15 touches per game, but it is Thomas who will be the guy on the field for most of the early downs. And Thomas will likely see even more work when the inevitable happens and Bush suffers another long-term leg injury. OK, now before I get way ahead of myself, we still have to see where Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams end up, but I think we can safely assume they will both be gone. Thomas is a top-25 fantasy RB inside of Miami's run-first offense. Bush, as he's always been and will continue to be, is a specialty player. Even as a flex option, I think he's a reach.
