Vikings' head coach says Donovan McNabb is his starting quarterback

File this in the "well, yeah duh" folder. Donovan McNabb @donovanjmcnabb won't need to go through a training camp-battle; he will be the Minnesota Vikings' week-one starter "barring unforeseen circumstances." Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier made the announcement Friday. "We're signing him assuming he's going to be our starting quarterback," Frazier said of McNabb. "... There's no doubt in my mind Donovan McNabb will perform at a high level in 2011." McNabb was traded by the Redskins to the Vikings in a deal completed Wednesday. Washington received a 2012 sixth-round pick and a conditional 2013 sixth-round pick. In order for the trade to go through, the Vikings needed McNabb to restructure the five-year, $78 million deal he received from the Redskins during last season. He did so, but the new numbers have not been made available yet.

Fantasy Analysis:

The McNabb addition looked really good while the Vikings still had Sidney Rice. Now that he's gone, Percy Harvin @Percy_Harvin remains as the only real threat out wide in this offense. Either the Vikings will go out and get another notable receiver or hope that someone from that jumbled mess behind Harvin comes forward. I'm guessing the former will be true. Otherwise, it's hard to have much confidence in McNabb as a stable fantasy commodity; the weapons around him just aren't very strong.
