Raiders WR Jacoby Ford breaks hand

One of the most exciting wide receivers in fantasy this season will be on the mend for a little while. Oakland Raiders head coach Hue Jackson told the media Sunday that Jacoby Ford @JacobyFord12 has suffered a broken left hand and could be out for a couple of weeks. The injury reportedly took place during Saturday's practice. "He broke his left hand and (it's) unfortunate," Jackson said of Ford. "Everybody's looking, going, 'Oh gosh, here we go.' Jacoby Ford will be fine, OK. And again, those are the things that happen. But he's good. He'll be back." Ford only caught 25 passes during his 2010 rookie campaign, but he averaged 18.8 yards per catch and developed as the season went along into one of the most explosive receivers in the league. He ended the season with seven touchdowns (two receiving, two rushing and three on kick returns).

Fantasy Analysis:

Ford is currently the 37th receiver off the board in mock drafts at MockDraftCentral.com. His home-run-play ability is unquestionable, and the Raiders need to find more ways to get the ball into his hands, be it either receiving, returning or rushing. He'll have some inconsistent games, but few receivers have more upside than him heading into 2011.
