Jim Kleinsasser will be Vikings' goal-line RB this week
I had no idea that Jim Kleinsasser was still playing in the NFL but apparently he will be for one more week. Kleinsasser plans to retire after this season, so Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier wants to send him out in style. He said Wednesday that if the Vikings gets the ball near the goal line, he'll give the ball to Kleinsasser so he can close out his career with a touchdown.
"Chicago, you better stop No. 40," Frazier said.
Fantasy Analysis:
Kleinsasser has been playing since 1999 and has scored just once in his last 113 games. But for Toby Gerhart owners, it looks like Kleinsasser is going to play the vulture role this week against the Bears. Plan accordingly. Hopefully the Vikings pull Kleinsasser back once he gets that score, allowing Gerhart to step back in and get the short-yardage touches for the rest of the way. Considering Adrian Peterson is out and how well Gerhart has run in the past month or so, I still think he's a decent RB2 in week 17.
