Saints RB Mark Ingram, WR Lance Moore ruled out for regular-season finale
New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram
was looking forward to coming back to play after missing a few games to rest his turf toe. But he didn't respond well after practicing Wednesday and will now spend New Year's Day on the sidelines. Wide receiver Lance Moore
will join him as both have been ruled out for week 17 versus the Carolina Panthers. Moore aggravated his hamstring injury on Monday night and has not been able to practice at all this week.
Fantasy Analysis:
There is now some concern that Ingram may not play for the rest of the season, including the playoffs. Whatever the case, Chris Ivory
will continue to see increased playing time with Ingram disabled. Saints head coach Sean Payton hasn't hinted this week at sitting his starters. The Saints and 49ers will be playing at the same time, and New Orleans needs a win and a Niners loss to grab a first-round bye. Since they have to win to have a chance at that bye, I think you're fairly safe to roll with your Saints this week. Even if the 49ers end up blowing out the Rams, that game probably won't be decided until you've gotten a solid three quarters out of Drew Brees and Co.
