Chargers RB Ryan Mathews misses practice; WR Vincent Jackson probable
San Diego Chargers running back Ryan Mathews
put in a limited practice Thursday, but was described on Friday by head coach Norv Turner as looking "pretty slow" because of his calf injury. So the Chargers decided to hold him out of practice Friday. He'll be a definite game-time decision versus the Oakland Raiders. Elsewhere on the roster, wide receiver Vincent Jackson
practiced fully Friday after sitting out on Wednesday and Thursday. He is listed as probable due to a groin injury.
Fantasy Analysis:
Jackson may be limited somewhat, but it looks like he'll play most of Sunday's game and should be in your lineup as he has a very good matchup against the Raiders' secondary. On the other hand, I would sit Mathews. This is a late game on Sunday, so you won't know whether or not he'll play until about 3 p.m. Eastern. Another reason to bench him is Mike Tolbert
, who practiced on Friday and is listed as probable. At best, this will be a 50-50 timeshare. But I suspect that the Chargers will play it safe, and Mathews will be held out.
