Seahawks WR Sidney Rice undergoes shoulder surgery

About five months after suffering a torn shoulder labrum, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Sidney Rice @sidneyrice underwent surgery on Tuesday to fix the problem.
"Some time ago, we knew he was going to have surgery," head coach Pete Carroll said of Rice. "We just put it off to this date. I don't know exactly why it was put off to this date, but there had been a few weeks in there where we could have done it earlier."
After missing the first two games of the regular season, Rice played most of the 2011 season with the injury. Then two concussions in the second half of the season forced the team to put him on injured reserve.

Fantasy Analysis:

Rice is expected to recover within four months, meaning he should be able to participate in the team's offseason workouts. However, his injury history -- including those concussions -- and the Seahawks' below-average options at quarterback really put a damper on Rice's fantasy value heading into 2012.
