Eagles TE Brent Celek had two surgeries Tuesday

After being left for dead by fantasy owners for most of the last two seasons, Philadelphia Eagles tight end Brent Celek @BrentCelek finished 2011 strong. He scored in the final three games of the season and was very starter-worthy after the team's bye in week seven. But on Tuesday, we found out that Celek did most of his work in spite of a lot of pain. Celek underwent two surgeries Tuesday to fix a torn labrum in his hip and for a sports hernia. The Eagles confirmed the surgeries on Wednesday. No recovery timetable has been announced.

Fantasy Analysis:

Just when I had settled on the fact that Michael Vick has completely forgotten about Celek, he re-emerged as a fantasy factor. He finished the season inside the top 10 in fantasy points at that position and now, I'm not sure what to think of him. I'll probably ignore him in drafts next season because I'm not going to forget how Celek was particularly worthless for the first handful of games this past season. He should be healthy by training camp.
