Raiders fire head coach Hue Jackson
The Oakland Raiders are moving on to their third head coach in three seasons. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Tuesday, via a tip from an NFL source, that the Raiders have fired head coach Hue Jackson. Jackson went 8-8 in his only season as Raiders' head coach. He was promoted from offensive coordinator to the lead job after Tom Cable was fired following the 2010 season. Jackson had the Raiders all lined up for a playoff berth entering the final month of the season. But the Raiders closed out the year losing four of their last five games, including a home game in week 17 versus San Diego where the Raiders would have claimed the AFC West with a win.
Fantasy Analysis:
This move was somewhat expected since the Raiders just hired a new general manager last week, and most thought that he would want to bring in his own guys. Jackson is an offensive guy who got a lot out of the team's young WRs this year, and used Michael Bush
to perfection. The Raiders have a lot of enticing fantasy weapons, but Jackson's successor will be hard-pressed to use them as well as he did.
