Dolphins finally sign a QB -- it's David Garrard
The Miami Dolphins have signed a Florida quarterback but definitely not the one people have been talking about today. The Dolphins have signed former Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback David Garrard
. Multiple sources have reported that it's a one-year deal. Garrard, 34, actually had one of his best statistical seasons as a pro in 2010 when he scored 28 total touchdowns. But the Jags cut him shortly before week one of 2011 in favor of Blaine Gabbert. Garrard was then unable to latch on with another club after undergoing back surgery.
Fantasy Analysis:
So, this is the Dolphins' backup plan after losing out on Peyton Manning, Matt Flynn and apparently Alex Smith? They must really not want to trade for Tebow. In whatever case, Garrard will now vie for the starting job with Matt Moore
and perhaps a high-round rookie. No matter who wins the gig the Dolphins currently possess one of the worst offenses in the NFL. Garrard shouldn't be on your fantasy QB radar right now.
