Vikings WR Percy Harvin says he needs shoulder surgery
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Percy Harvin
wrote on his Twitter account Monday that he needs shoulder surgery. However, Harvin made it sound like something less than major as he followed up that tweet by writing, "Recovery should be quick I will be ready for otas."
Harvin, who will turn 24 years old next month, set career-highs last season with 87 catches and 967 yards. He has posted either five or six receiving touchdowns in each of his first three seasons.
Fantasy Analysis:
I can find one thing to say about this injury news with Harvin: At least it's not a migraine. We'll track his progress through the summer, but this doesn't seem to be a reason to lower his draft stock at the moment. As he and Christian Ponder continue to build a rapport, Harvin has strong WR2 upside in fantasy. He should also see more targets in the early stages of this season if Adrian Peterson's rehab following ACL surgery progresses at a slower than expected rate.
