It doesn't sound like Bears RB Matt Forte will hold out into regular season
Matt Forte
isn't happy. He has yet to sign his contract tender, and if he doesn't get the long-term deal he has desired for more than a year, he could very well hold out into training camp. But missing regular-season games? Forte wouldn't go that far. When asked Thursday if he will play for the Bears this season, Forte seemed somewhat resigned to his fate.
"I don't think I really have a choice, do I?" Forte said. "Yeah, I'll be here. ... "I'm excited to get in there and talk to Mr. (Jeremy) Bates and get in there with Jay (Cutler) and see what he thinks about the passing game, and see how I can get involved in that, too."
Fantasy Analysis:
Maybe I'm reading into those quotes too much, but it doesn't sound like sitting out games is in Forte's plan, no matter how much he thinks the Bears are disrespecting him. It'll be interesting to see how much, if any, of training camp he is absent from. Right now, I think Forte is fine as a second-round pick, but no higher considering the expectation that Michael Bush
will take a hearty chunk out of his value.
