Seahawks cut WR Mike Williams

The Seattle Seahawks have cut their No. 1 wide receiver from two seasons ago. The team announced Friday that it has released 28-year-old wideout Mike Williams @BigMikeWill17.
"We would like to thank Mike for his contributions over the past two seasons, and we wish him well in the future," General Manager John Schneider said in a statement.
Williams posted career-highs by catching 65 passes for 751 yards in 2010. Those numbers dropped off drastically in 2011 as Williams caught just 18 balls for 236 yards. He missed the final two games of the season due to a broken leg.

Fantasy Analysis:

A big factor in this move was the $3.6 million that Williams was set to count against the cap this season. It's hard to believe that he is indeed only 28 years old, but 2010 was probably the best he can offer. Some other team will give him a look, but he won't be a fantasy asset. The Seahawks' top three WRs heading into the season now seem to be Sidney Rice @sidneyrice, Golden Tate @ShowtimeTate and Doug Baldwin @DougBaldwinJr.
