Browns' Montario Hardesty ready for training camp

In May, Cleveland Browns general manager Tom Heckert said the team overworked running back Peyton Hillis @thepeytonhillis last season and would incorporate a second rusher more often in 2011. Heckert pointed to Montario Hardesty @MoHard20, who didn't play at all in his 2010 rookie year because of a torn ACL. But Hardesty told the Lake County News-Herald on Thursday that his knee is getting healthier and he'll be ready when he's called upon to perform. "I can't wait to get out there and contribute to our team," Hardesty said. "It's been a long time, but I'm feeling good. I'm continuing my rehab. When training camp starts, I'll be ready to go. ... I think Peyton and I will bring out the best in each other. Competition is good for everybody." Hardesty spent most of his offseason during the lockout with trainers from his alma mater, the University of Tennessee. He did not attend any of the Browns' four player-organized workouts because of his rehab schedule.

Fantasy Analysis:

The question now is, how long can Hardesty stay relatively healthy? One of the biggest knocks on him is his lack of durability. He tore an ACL in 2005 and suffered a stress fracture in his leg in 2008, among other ailments. We'll see how the Browns use him in training camp. Right now, Hardesty is a late-round handcuff pick with some upside.
