Donovan McNabb is ever so close to being traded to Vikings
The trading teams are known. The exchange in compensation is set. All that stands in the way of Donovan McNabb becoming a Minnesota Vikings is money.
According to FOX Sports' Jay Glazer, the Redskins will send McNabb to the Vikings for the price of a sixth-round pick in 2012 and a conditional sixth-round pick in 2013. That second pick will be included, depending on how well McNabb performs this season.
The only thing holding up a deal at this hour tonight is the lack of a restructured contract. McNabb is due $12.5 million for this season. The Vikings don't want to pay that much for what will probably be just a one-year rental. But plenty of people in the know expect the financial holdups to be worked out Wednesday.
Fantasy Analysis:
We'll talk more about the fantasy impact of this deal when it gets done Wednesday -- because it will get done Wednesday. But the addition of McNabb, no matter how bad he was in that lost season with the Redskins, is great news for that entire Vikings offense. At the very, very least, he will draw much more respect from opposing defenses than Christian Ponder .
