RB Brandon Jackson joins Browns
The Cleveland Browns have talked about lessening Peyton Hillis ' workload for this season. Many thought that 2010 rookie Montario Hardesty
, who missed the entire season after tearing an ACL, would be the solution. But perhaps it's a former Green Bay Packer running back.
The Browns signed Brandon Jackson
to a two-year deal worth $4.5 million Thursday. He ran for 703 yards on 190 carries with Packers last season. By the end of the year, he had begun losing carries to James Starks.
Fantasy Analysis:
Throughout the offseason, we had heard multiple reports stating how Hardesty was healthy and ready to go in 2011, and the Browns' brass seemed to point to him as the guy who would help out Hillis. Maybe they don't trust him? Maybe he's more injured than anyone's letting on? Whatever the case, Jackson's addition has suddenly created a two-man contest to see who will be Cleveland's probable third-down back and top handcuff to Hillis.
