Falcons sign rookie WR Julio Jones
The last of the Atlanta Falcons' six draft picks to sign was the first player they selected in April. Wide receiver Julio Jones and the Falcons have agreed on terms of a four-year contract worth $16.2 million. It's yet another rookie contract that is fully guaranteed.
Jones was the eighth overall pick, and he's only in Atlanta because the Falcons moved up in the first round, trading five draft picks to the Cleveland Browns.
Fantasy Analysis:
Jones should supplant Michael Jenkins as the team's No. 2 WR. He and Roddy White will be a formidable duo, one that can really stretch a defense. With Tony Gonzalez entering probably his final season and Michael Turner running on a pair of legs that looked like they were about to fall off at the end of last season, Jones might be relied upon to produce quite a lot in his first season. He's a mid-round selection in fantasy drafts. I am expecting big things from Matt Ryan
