Report: 49ers WR Michael Crabtree out 4-to-6 weeks

San Francisco 49ers Michael Crabtree @KingCrab15 may not be ready to play week one versus the Seattle Seahawks. That's because the foot injury that he's been dealing with all offseason and kept him out of player-organized workouts will also keep him out of action for the next four-to-six weeks, according to the Sacramento Bee. The exact nature of the injury is unknown. It's to Crabtree's left foot, which was surgically repaired in 2009. But this is a separate ailment. It means that Crabtree will likely miss his third preseason in a row. A holdout washed out the 2009 preseason for him. A neck injury did the trick in 2010. The 49ers will now look for a veteran wide receiver to add and possibly plug into the starting lineup alongside Josh Morgan @NFLJoshMorgan. It's been reported that the 49ers were interested in Chad Ochocinco before the Bengals decided to trade him to the Patriots.

Fantasy Analysis:

The next wide receiver in line to cover for Crabtree may be Ted Ginn, so yeah, the 49ers need a quick fix badly. Between attitude problems, injuries and just simple poor play, Crabtree's young NFL career has been quite turbulent. Year three is starting off very ominously. I'm not drafting anyone in this offense other than Frank Gore and Vernon Davis right now. Their fantasy values aren't affected too much by this news, because Crabtree hasn't proven to be a difference-maker in San Fran. They will continue to survive without him.
