Packers TE Jermichael Finley says he's faster, leaner
Green Bay Packers tight end Jermichael Finley continued to assure people that he is ready to go this season. A while back, he stated on Twitter that his surgically repaired knee is "10000000000000%" healthy. On Saturday, he talked with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel about how he is faster and leaner for this year, down from about 255 pounds to 240.
"I'm going to be the same player that I was at 250. Guarantee it," Finley said. "I'm a competitor. They might get me once but they won't get me twice. ... If I'm comfortable playing at 240, [Packers coaches] should be comfortable with me playing at 240. I'm faster and I'm still strong."
Fantasy Analysis:
Right now, those coaches are making Finley take it easy. He's simply doing individual drills at the start of training camp, but head coach Mike McCarthy said Sunday that Finley should be ready to go "full steam" by this Wednesday. His knee shouldn't be much of a concern, and Finley is an easy top-four tight end in drafts.
